KC Motor Group Ltd. (KCMG) will take on the ADAC 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers on the grueling Nordschleife this weekend (May 6-8), as the team continues its preparation for the ADAC TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Nürburgring at the end of the month.
The coming weekend will see a change in format, with two three-hour races replacing the usual six-hour event. Running three days will give the teams more track time this year, with qualifying taking place on Friday, ahead of the races on both Saturday and Sunday.
KCMG’s NLS 1 podium places Dennis Olsen and Josh Burdon will compete in the #18 Porsche 911 GT3 R. Following his appearance for the team at NLS 3, Earl Bamber will also join the crew, with Nick Tandy completing the lineup.
DENNIS OLSEN: “I’m excited to be in qualifying this weekend and the whole team has worked really hard. We have developed as best we can to ensure that we are in the best possible shape for the event. It will be great to have Nick with us and I’m optimistic we can get another positive result on the Nordschleife.”
EARL BAMBER: “We had a really strong pace during NLS 3 and now it’s time to take another step forward in the qualifying races. Competing at the Nürburgring is always a challenge and I’m ready to take on KCMG this weekend. The team has goals for this event, so I’m looking forward to joining the crew and putting in a strong performance on track.”
NICK TANDY: “First of all, I have to say a big thank you to Paul and everyone at KCMG for welcoming me to the team. It’s great to be racing here at the Nürburgring again and with a crew that has such high ambitions. I can’t wait to get into qualifying and I’m sure we can get a good result. I’ve had success with Earl and Dennis in the past, so it’s great to be racing alongside them again, and I’m looking forward to working with Josh for the first time. I’m eager to get back on track with KCMG and I’m ready for my first laps around the Nordschleife on Sunday.”
JOSH BURDON: “I would like to get behind the wheel of the Porsche 911 GT3 R again for this weekend’s qualifying races. Our results at the Nordschleife have been good so far this season, so I’m excited to be working with the team again and continue our momentum. I am delighted to welcome Nick to the lineup and we all hope for a positive weekend.”
MATT HOWSON TEAM MANAGER: “We are now entering a critical phase of the build-up to this year’s Nürburgring 24-hour race, and it is a pleasure to welcome Nick back to the team. Together with Dennis, Josh and Earl, the four drivers form a formidable line-up for the upcoming event. We are confident in our pace and potential, so now is the time to gather the latest vital data and information and aim for a strong result in the qualifying races. A good performance will be the key to start the Nürburgring 24 weekend strong.”
PAUL IP KCMG FOUNDER: “The team has been hard at work preparing and improving so far this season and it shows in our speed on the track. The push for the qualifying races resumes and I’m sure we can continue the positive results we’ve had on the Nordschleife so far this year. It’s great to welcome Earl and Nick back to the team, they are both excellent drivers who will join our crew. Our aim is to put in a positive performance so that we can start our 24-hour weekend in the best position possible, and continue to develop and learn so that we are fully up to speed for the big event at the end of the month.”
