It was hot on the asphalt and that did not help the balance of the Red Bull car driven by the current world champion. Due to the high temperatures, the Pirelli tires had a hard time and the wear was high. The Limburger was satisfied with the race simulation.

“It was difficult to find the right balance in this heat”, says Max after the session. “We have looked at the speed over one lap, there is still some work to be done. The long runs, on the other hand, look good, so I’m quite happy with that. We have to find the middle way.” About the weather conditions, the Limburger notes: “The tires are having a hard time here and as far as the balance is concerned, we haven’t quite managed that yet. It does help that it stays the same again.”

On Saturday, the third free practice has been scheduled with qualifying for the race on Sunday later that day. Verstappen will do everything in his power to finish the race with a good result and catch up on his title rival Charles Leclerc.
