“I went off”, Max says after the race in Barcelona. “I suddenly had a lot of wind from behind.” Max continues: “I was on a train and it was frustrating that my DRS didn’t always work. That made it very tough and it was difficult to overtake afterwards. We managed with the right strategy to run our own race and eventually get in first place and win the race. A difficult start but a good ending.”

Reflecting on the difficult early stages, Max says: “I tried to stay focused, you lose a lot of time and I had a lot of chances to overtake Russell and then the DRS didn’t work. It’s not nice when things like this happen. I am happy that I won and I am also happy for Checo and the good result for the team.”
