CUPRA has entered into a new partnership with the EKS team to defend this year’s title in the FIA eTouring Car World Cup – the FIA ETCR for short – the world championship for all-electric touring cars.
The announcement underlines CUPRA’s vision for electric racing and for a more sustainable, innovative and exciting era of motorsport. EKS is the successful team of the reigning Pure ETCR Champion (and former DTM and FIA World RX Champion) Mattias Ekström, who won the Drivers’ and Constructors’ title last year with CUPRA.

Under the new team name CUPRA EKS, CUPRA and EKS continue to develop the CUPRA e-Racer, the world’s first 100% electric touring car. Thanks to four electric motors on the rear axle and a liquid-cooled 65 kWh battery pack, the CUPRA e-Racer delivers a combined peak power of 500 kW (680 hp) and maximum torque of 960 Nm. The high-tech electric race car sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 270 km/h.
FIA ETCR – eTouring Car World Cup Welcomes ERA Championship

On April 19, CUPRA will present its new driver line-up and the new livery for the car with which team CUPRA EKS will enter the FIA ETCR in 2022.
